I read something online the other day that I wanted to share with you... An anonymous woman posted her thoughts on society’s perspective of beauty and referred to herself as “ugly”… Here’s what I have to say about that…
People will always be visual and judge a book by its cover. This is why the marketing industry is huge. It’s very possible to convince people to see things as you see them, or in this case as you see yourself.
Take a look at some well-known, successful people. Most are not what society would call “Beautiful” but what they possess that controls the way people respond to them is intangible. Before the money showed up along with all the material things that money could buy (which means) before the greater influences showed up belief was present. It’s their ability to BELIEVE in what they stand for, no matter what it is, that places a demand on others to treat them as such. So there can be a turning point in everyones life when what they believe about themselves is the way they’ll be perceived…
My heart really goes out to this woman (and others in her shoes) because she even went as far as to say she didn’t want to bring children into this world. Her concerns were of how the world would treat them for being “ugly”.
I understand that the industry has placed a box around what they call “beauty” and the women who feel the need to over expose themselves to fit into the box are just as lost as the women who considers themselves “Ugly “ for being outside of the box.
This sort of thinking probably goes back generations. Parents tell your children they’re beautiful and brilliant before society defines what is … And if no one has told you, tell yourself! Beauty is broad! Embrace your beauty! Find something nice to say about yourself! I don't care if you have to start with saying you have really nice eyebrows or elbows! Just get in the habit of saying good things about your self and others. We all have a part to play! The cycle of self pity/hate can continue with you or end with you. It’s your choice!
No matter what combination of features you inherited with confidence knowledge wisdom and the right image (that I'll be glad to assist you with :-)) you’re bound to succeed.
